PAAG was formed in 1960 with area artists Fred and Sarah Griesemer, Albert and Sylvia Sanft, Joseph F. Landis, Mildred Sands Kratz, and Dorla Dean Slider.
Their common vision was:
-
To allow people to express themselves collectively. This includes art as therapy, art as education, and art as individual expression.

-
To encourage art sales through the tri-county area.

-
To promote art education and art appreciation within the community.
