Francesca Barone
As a child I was interested in drawing, coloring and painting; my family considered it play that I would put aside some day. And I did.
It took until I was in my 50’s, when my three kids were grown, that I had time to pursue personal interests and for me that meant turning to art, first with watercolors and then photography.
I joined a community arts organization, took watercolor classes where I used my photography to provide reference material for my painting. I really wasn’t much of a painter, but my photos got attention. I was encouraged to crop, print and enter Art Shows. I won awards and people started to ask for prints.
My work has been based on travels, local and international. Covid changed that. I’m hoping to start traveling again soon. In the meantime, I’m looking closer to home for inspiration and material. Watch for my collections: Chix and Kitts, Down the Shore, Birds and Bugs, and In the Hood.
